Since 2016, the town of Pforzheim in Germany invites together with Pforzheim University and the Design Center Baden-Württemberg international designers to Pforzheim as part of its scholarship program “Designers in Residence”. The call for entries for the residency in 2020 is now open.

 “Designers in Residence” is directed towards young designers in the areas of jewelry, fashion, accessory and industrial design. The scholarship invites three designers for a three month working phase at the EMMA Creative Center. The scholarship holders will have access to fully equipped workshop and coworking workplaces in the EMMA Creative Center which is the central platform for creative people in Pforzheim. Additionally, they will receive financial support and free accommodation. The results of the scholarship will be presented in an exhibition at the EMMA Creative Center and in co-operation with the Design Center Baden-Württemberg in Stuttgart.

The decision of the scholarship holders will be made by a jury. The jury members are Sam Tho Doung (Jewelry designer, Pforzheim), Stefan Lippert (UP Designstudio, Stuttgart) and Bettina Weiss (Adidas, Herzogenaurach).

The period of residence in Pforzheim is from April 1 to June 30, 2020. The deadline of applications is Thursday, November 15th, 2019.

The LOEWE FOUNDATION seeks to recognize uniquely talented artisans whose artistic vision and will to innovate set new standards for the future of craft.

The Prize for the winning entry is 50,000 euros. The shortlisted and winning works will feature in the exhibition and accompanying catalogue in Paris in Spring 2020.

Association ALLIAGES (Contemporary Art Jewelry, non-profit organization) organizes an exhibition to be held from December 2019 to March 2020 (*) at ALLIAGES Gallery in Lille (France) and during Schmuck 2020 event in Munich (March 11-15th, 2020). The exhibition theme is Broken Beauty and each artist may submit his/her own vision of the subject. (More dates & destinations will follow after Munich). A paper publication will be done at the end of the exhibition and the artists selected participating in all dates will have a free copy.

After three consecutive exhibitions, the goal of the IV Muestra de Orfebrería y Joyería Contemporáneas´ remains to be the international diffusion and promotion of contemporary goldsmithing and jewelry design in order to match the so called fine arts. Thus, the IV Contemporary Goldsmithing and Jewelry Exhibition presented by AdOC will take place at the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas of Madrid within the Madrid Design Festival, at the same time as the Semana del Arte-ARCO.

Schmuck is organized since 1959 at the international trade fair. It is the eldest special jewelry show in the world. Both young talents and experienced artists working in the applied arts and technology will have the opportunity to show their work in the international competition.
The chosen works will be shown on the International Trade Fair for the Skilled Trades in Munich from 11th to 15th March 2020.

GAo ShAn is a contemporary jewelry and art gallery located in the Design District of Helsinki. The gallery is suitable for exhibitions in the fields of jewelry, textile and fashion design and contemporary art. Currently this is the only gallery in Helsinki with the main focus on Finnish jewelry culture, with the special focus area of promoting jewelry designers and artist’s work. We are now accepting applications for new exhibitions and projects in the premises of the gallery. The exhibition space of the gallery consists of 3,58 meters high space of 17m2 in size with a large window giving to Korkeavuorenkatu.

Applications for organizing exhibitions at gallery Gao Shan are made by filling in the application form. The applications must be accompanied by an exhibition plan, a CV of the artist(s) and possible other visual material. Applications for organizing an exhibition should be made at latest three months before the planned opening date of exhibitions. The applicants for exhibitions will be contacted in due course.

JOYA Barcelona Art Jewellery & Objects is the main art jewellery and art objects event in Spain. Gathering a great number of independent artists as well as related organizations, schools and other entities. JOYA, in its 11th edition will be focused on the communicative and diplomatic meaning of the art jewellery and objects in nowadays. JOYA 2019 will take place on the October 10th, 11th and 12th 2019 at Disseny Hub Barcelona, Spain.
The Event 
Its goal is to promote national and international artists through exhibition and communication, support jewellery and help open up an artistic market that has remained under exploited until now. Moreover, JOYA is a platform for artists to interact and share experiences and discuss their common issues, an opportunity for artists, press, distributors and interested audience to come into contact. During 3 days, JOYA offers the designers a pleasant new space and environment to increase their contact lists and exhibit their pieces. The event is organized by Le Département Interiors S.L and directed by Paulo Ribeiro.

Professional individual artists working in the field of jewellery and crafts as well as artists from other fields of art and design that focus on the new ideologies and aesthetic views of art jewellery and art objects are eligible to participate in JOYA. Candidates from all countries and nationalities will be eligible to participate in the exhibition. There are no restrictions regarding material, size and concept of the pieces, however, no brand names will be represented. To be eligible to participate, the artist should be properly registered as a self-employed worker in the Social Security system or be part of a company for taxation purposes.

A jury according to the following criteria selects the participating artists in JOYA: originality and innovation of designs, concept, material use, craftsmanship and coherence under a theme or research line. The selection of the artists who will be participating to JOYA 2019 will be officially divulgated by e-mail on May 20th, 2019.

I would like to invite you to submit work for selection to be included in the fifth book of the collection entitled New Bracelets: 500+ Contemporary Jewellery Designs.

In this new book, we attempt to gather a relevant, inspirational and contemporary sample of bracelets from all around the world. The selected pieces will be featured with the profile of the artist and technical details of the work. The publisher will be Promopress (

Every nomination is based entirely on the merit of the work submitted for selection. In case your work is selected for publication it will entail no fees on your part and you will receive a free copy of the book New Bracelets: 500+ Contemporary Jewellery Designs. However, shipping expenses from Barcelona to your destination are not included.

Keep in mind that the quality of the images you are submitting will play a definite role in the nominations; therefore, send only best quality, both professional and artistic photographs of your most recent work. Korutaideyhdistyksen teosmyyntinäyttely järjestetään 10.3.-18.3.2018 Helsingissä Kaapelitehtaan Valssaamossa. Taidemaalariliiton perinteinen teosvälitys, sekä Ornamon teosvälitys järjestetään samaan aikaan Kaapelitehtaalla omassa tilassaan. Tilaisuus sai viime vuonna noin 15000 kävijää, joten Korutaideyhdistyksen jäsenillä on erinomainen mahdollisuus saada teoksiaan esille, sekä tavata korutaiteesta kiinnostunutta yleisöä. Yhdistys haluaa antaa näyttelyllä laadukkaan kuvan monipuolisesta suomalaisesta korutaiteen kentästä ja luoda tätä kautta yleisölle ja asiakkaille raikkaan muistutuksen taiteen ja muotoilun erilaisista vaihtoehdoista. Kaikki mukaan!

Teosmyynti on kaikille Korutaideyhdistyksen jäsenille avoin. Voit tarjota tuoreita, korkeatasoisia teoksia näyttelyyn max. 10 kpl. Valssaamo on tilana suuri (266m2) ja sen vuoksi myös installaatiomaiset toteutukset ovat mahdollisia. Korutaideyhdistyksen myyntinäyttelyn työryhmä käy tarjotut teokset läpi ja suunnittelee Valssaamon ilmeen niiden perusteella.

Teosmyynti on avoinna yleisölle 9 päivää, jonka lisäksi päiviä kuluu rakentamiseen ja purkamiseen. Yhdistys tarvitsee vapaaehtoisia tapahtuman aikana mm. valvomaan tilaa ja esittelemään teoksia jne., sekä rakentamisessa Valssaamossa 5.-8.3. 2018 ja purkamisessa 18.-19.3.2018. Osallistumismaksu teosmyyntiin on 50 euroa / jäsen. Teosmyynnin työryhmän jäsenten tai kokopäiväiseksi valvojaksi osallistuvien ei tarvitse maksaa osallistumismaksua ja heille korvataan lounaat ja kohtuulliset matkakulut max. 100 euroon saakka, ellei toisin sovita talkoolaisen kanssa. Yhdestäkin valvontapäivästä on iso apu!

Taiteilijat maksavat itse teosten kuljetuksesta aiheutuvat kustannukset. Installaatiomaisten, suurten teosten pystytyksestä vastaa taiteilija itse.

HUOM! Osallistujat kantavat itse vastuun omien töiden vakuuttamisesta. Yhdistys ei ota ryhmävakuutusta. Tila on koko tapahtuman ajan valvottu.

Myydyistä teoksista maksetaan 20% provisio yhdistykselle.
