Astari G. Swatantri
Swatantri is an award-winning jewelry artist with a Grand Prix of Minister’s encouragement at the Japan Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and an Award from Japan Jewellery Designers Association. Born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia, where she studied architecture, she intuitively designs jewelry art with stories, moving elements, and hidden surprises for the audience to discover. Her parallel passion for the art of painting conjures up fresh visions that amalgamate in whimsical jewelry, an innovative fusion of the multiple disciplines. Handsculpting her jewelry primarily with recycled silver in the form of clay, she utilizes various environmentally conscious materials, such as in her ’I.Sea.You.’ ring series that was awarded the first prize at Aqua Ambra Aquila International Jewelry Competition. She currently lives in Helsinki.
