Inari kiuru
Inari Kiuru is a multidisciplinary artist and designer who spent her childhood in Lappeenranta. She migrated to Australia in 1996, acquired Honours degrees in visual communication and silversmithing, and now works and lives in Melbourne with an independent studio practice. Far from her native land, Inari continues to investigate her native Finnish relationship with seasonal changes through observing light and everyday details in the urban environment. Known for her experimental, poetic use of non-precious materials such as concrete and steel, the core of Inari’s practice is revealing beauty within ordinary things. Inari’s current practice focuses on jewellery, small objects and images, and she is also working on a book.
